Go for adventures

I do not have a name for this project, yet. But the adventure is on. We are trying to create a Guerrilla Startup at Cubiq.lat, building our APIs & Products on a minimal budget, the highest efficiency possible and loads of coffee. That led me to some places. Weird places. Which places are those, darling? You may be asking yourself.

Well... Everything started when I was a child... Sorry, no, not there, when I was in need... for a better programming language. I was looking forward to feeling better.

So I grabbed a bike. Then crashed the bike. Then decided to go back to coding. That's what I do.

I decided to feel the power of a different type of programming language.

I needed to taste something bigger, something more powerful. Understanding that with great power comes a greater learning curve and greater capabilities.

Initially I chose Rust. Loved it. Learned as little as someone can learn, felt the harsh love of the borrow checker. It took a toll; it came with a cost.

I desisted.

There were other things going on in my life at the time. Lots of things. I had some other pending biking adventures. A company to run — or create. A girlfriend to love. Plants to water. No children at all.

So I needed options. I needed to settle for a middle ground...

So i insisted.

For a while I resisted the idea of Golang. Maybe it was the mascot, maybe too many "ThePrimeagen" videos. Too much pride taken from the fact of dismissing something so tied up to the big G. It was silly of me; all right, it was stupid. Fair. Go turns out to be a fantastic language. An interesting language. A clean language. A simple systems language. A perfect fit for what I was in need of; a perfect fit for Cubiq and a perfect fit for a bird eager to understand...

So I have started playing with Go at https://goplay.tools/.

The roadmap is still tough. The learning curve still steep. The coffee is already boiling. Fun, guaranteed!
